See Ya Simon

In English, this term our whole class had to read a book called See Ya Simon by David Hill. We had a lot of questions and activities that had to be done about that book. Everyday we had to read chapter after chapter. Once we finished reading the whole book we had to chose an event or scene that happened in the book. My friend and I created a scene where Simon played soccer. Here is my scratch I created.

CYB Week 7

In English, we have been reading a book about See Ya Simon and how he has MD ( Muscular Dystrophy) . At this moment we had to write an assignment about it.

In Maths we just finished a Maths test for decimal place value. I could say I did pretty good but some questions were hard, but in the end I managed to carry on. At this point all we are focusing on is place values, timetables, decimals fractions.

In Science we are basically focusing and learning about waves and energy. I have very much enjoy learning a lot of different types of energy and other things in Science.

During P.E we are just learning the basics on how to play badminton and its movement towards it. Not so long ago (which was last week) we had finished our fitness rotation where we did a lot of running, weight lifting and exercises.

In ESM (Environmental Sustainability Management) - We are planting a lot of plants and trees around the school for our environment.

In Social Studies, we have been mainly learning about migration and refugee.

Refugee Simulator Game

Kia ora Bloggers,

two days ago in social studies, we played a game called refugee simulator. We all got into groups of three or more. The game started off by only packing 15 things in each of the two suitcases and risking some of their things and having to make tough decisions just to survive. During the game or lesson I have learnt and developed the feeling that families and people have been through these types of situations.
