Moving to another country

 Kia ora Bloggers,

during my social studies lesson, this week we have been learning about moving to another country. Whaea Muritere, gave us a task to learn about finding a random country and research everything we could, and what it'll be like if we moved there. I have learnt that in China the popularity there is 1.398 billion, which is quite a lot, if you think about it. This work kinda reminds me of our last work we did on where our grandparents/ tupuna migrated. This work helps me learn about different or other counties and how maybe you would like to move there in the future. My overall view during this week's work on moving to another country has been really fun and interesting.

Waitangi What Really Happened

In social studies, last term we had to watch seven episodes of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and what really happened behind the history of the signing. The one thing I noticed that was generous, while watching the episodes was how the British gave the Maori people, blankets and tobacco. The most thoughtful thing I noticed was when the governor said” He iwi tahi tatou” (we are one people). It was thoughtful because he included all cultures people). It was very fun and interesting learning about the history behind all the episodes of the signing. We had learnt quite a lot how it was back in those days. While watching the parts I was very unsure on why Jack Jones sell a Maori girl to a man and how they sell chief heads as well.
